| Intense Pulsed Light Therapy,
also known as Photorejuvenation, is a proven technology that
has been in use for almost 10 years. It was developed to treat
a variety of benign skin conditions such as red spots, age
spots, freckles, birthmarks, and other forms of sun-damaged
skin.
Treatment is generally administered in a series of three to
six office visits, each lasting 20-30 minutes. Treatment can
also be completed in as few as one or two visits, although
three to five days of downtime usually follows. There is little
or no downtime when the program is spread over four to six
treatments.
Patients report a slight stinging sensation, like the snapping
of a warm rubber band, as each pulse of light is applied.
Palomar SLP1000
Pulsed Light Hair Removal
SkinMD offers the Palomar Slow Long Pulse Laser for
advanced treatment of hair removal. A safe and effective treatment
for all skin types, the laser works by sending pulses of energy
into the hair follicle to cause its destruction. This technology
allows for the treatment of all skin types because it minimizes
heat build-up in the surrounding skin. Area skin cooling before
and after each laser pulse is delivered makes for a safer
and more comfortable procedure.
Most patients tolerate this procedure well with minimal discomfort,
although some report a mild stinging sensation. Some areas
of the body are more sensitive to treatment than others.
Treatment prices vary depending on area being treated. Please
